Adriel Bernal

Adriel Bernal (he/él) is a proud transgender Mexican Latino actor, director, filmmaker, and writer from Compton, California, now based in Los Angeles. His work blends lived experience, community, and resilience, using storytelling as a way to heal, connect, and spark change.

In 2023, he created his short documentary Dear Nancy, Sincerely Addy, a personal exploration of his trans coming-out journey, now streaming on Red Coral Universe and YouTube. In 2025, he co-created and produced the short play LA E$trELLA, (The Star), which premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival during Pride Month, telling the story of a transgender Latina woman’s rise to stardom. Adriel’s work has been featured at independent film festivals, community screenings, art exhibits, and the REACH LA Youth LGBTQIA+ Summit, with a focus on centering joy and complexity in marginalized voices. His goal is to create television that portrays queer and trans characters of color not as stereotypes, but as leads who are magnetic, complex, and unforgettable, bringing intergenerational trans and Latinx stories to the forefront.
